Activities
A typical pony camp will start with children bringing
their ponies in from the field before grooming them and
getting them ready for a day of fun.
Activities during the week include jumping, handy
pony, gymkhana games, cross-country and lots more.
Rosettes will be awarded throughout the week for
various activities and members of the pony club can work
towards their “progressive tests” and badges.Costs
The five day pony camp is £280
(deposit £100) and the three day pony camp is £170
(deposit £70). All
meals and activities (e.g. swimming) are included.
Children can bring their own pony for an
additional £10.
A discount is available for more than one child
or more than one camp.
Accommodation
Children aged 8 to 13 years will stay
at Gail’s house for the duration of the week and will be
supervised by a member of staff (children aged 14 - 16
years by arrangement only).
Tents are available for older children wishing to
camp or they may bring your own.
Each child will need to bring the
following for use during their stay;
- Sleeping bag, torch, pillow
and single berth lilo or similar to sleep on
- Bath towel, toiletries and
swim wear
- Pocket money (no more than £5
please)
We advise against bringing mobile
phones, ipods, etc as we cannot be held responsible for
their loss or damage.
Booking
To book please complete the booking form (above) and
return it to us as soon as possible with the appropriate
deposit per child (cheques to be payable to Somerby
Equestrian Centre Ltd).

Now is an exciting time to be joining
The Pony Club. There are rallies, gymkhanas and summer
camps to take part in, opportunities for you to learn
new riding skills, how best to look after your pony,
make new friends and have a great deal of fun.
- The Pony Club is an international voluntary
youth organisation for those interested in ponies
and riding. It is the largest association of riders
in the world.
- The Pony Club has over 350 centres in the UK
with in excess of 10,000 members.
- The Pony Club encourages young people to ride
and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with
horses and riding.
- The Pony Club aims to provide instruction in
riding and horsemanship and to instill in Members
the proper care of their animals.
- New Pony Membership is open to boys and girls
under 21 years of age.
- The Pony Club promotes the highest ideals of
sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby
cultivating strength of character and self
discipline.
- Centres run regular activities for their Members
including rallies, fun days, camps and competitions.
- You'll meet lots of young people who share your
love of ponies.
- Members of The Pony Club are covered by Third
Party Public Liability Insurance.

Friendship, Training, Events and Competitions.

a pony (Stable Management & Riding) Mornings &
afternoon sessions will run throughout the year.

All children are
encouraged to take recognized Pony Club Tests
including Riding & Road Safety, which are able to be
taken at the centre.

Training nights
towards Achievement badges helps to make the child
more practical and knowledgeable around horses &
ponies in a safe controlled environment.

Need to wear
correct pony club attire (Pony club sweatshirt,
white shirt & tie, jodhpurs and correct riding
equipment).
